The INTERREG Alpine Carpathian River Corridor Kick Off Event took place in Schloß Rothmühle, Schwechat, on the 17th May.

The event was opened with words of greeting from the Vizemayor of Schwechat, Mag.a Brigitte Krenn.

Subsequently the director of Nationalpark Donau-Auen Mag. Carl Manzano gave a short insight into the situation and role of protected areas in the austrian-slovakian border region.

Mag. Christoph Litschauer followed with a short presentation on how the project is embedded in transnational strategic directives, such as WFD or FFHD.

After a refreshment all seven project partner presented the content and aim of the project together.

To conclude the event an excursion to the pilot actions along the Schwechat was organized.
